정말 대단하군요..

21세기이긴 한가봅니다.

An iPhone application which could let users identify strangers in the street has been branded a gift to perverts and stalkers, Daily Mirror reported Sunday.

According to the report, this application allows one to see who the person is and what social networks they are connected to.

Users of Recognizr take a picture of a passer-by on their mobile then it uses facial recognition technology to match the image with people on Facebook and other social networks. They could find out personal details about a stranger, see photos or send them messages.

It works by making a detailed 3D map of people’s faces from photographs taken by mobile phones.

“Recognizr, designed by Swedish software company, Polar Rose, has been bought by Apple for £15 million (about $24 million).

Alex Deane of Big Brother Watch, an organization fighting intrusion on privacy and protecting liberties, expressed concern by saying "This is a deeply disturbing development. No one could make a case for letting perverts, stalkers and weirdos identify you on the street with their mobile phones."
